Mademoiselle Butterfly

Ava is now in her second round of dance classes at Ms. Janies studio, and loving every minute! Nana joined us last week to observe and served as our camera woman (thanks, Nana!).

We sit and sing hand-motion songs during one part of the class. Here we're singing "Itsy-Bitsy Spider".

Here is Ava, with her butterfly wings on, practicing her arabesque with Ms. Janie.

Check out her deep backward bend...again, with the wings on.

Here, we're singing "throw the beanbag up and catch it, turn around, turn around, stamp, stamp, stamp". Ava definitely has the "throw the beanbag up" part down pat.

Here, we're singing the "Color Song" and "crawling around green".

Here, Ms. Janie spots Ava as she does a forward roll. Ava learned to do these in her first round of dance classes and loves practicing them at home.

Here, Ms. Janie helps Ava with her backward roll.

Who knows, maybe Ava is headed for "Dancing With the Stars"...she'd probably end up being the dancer who was supposed to try to teach some giant football star to conga!

Oh, Ava is such a little princess! I am so proud to be her aunt. The class looks like so much fun. Too bad I don't have any little girls. Look forward to seeing you guys soon.

What's up w/ the dance instructer 4 pictures down? Looks like she is off doing her own dance while you guys toss that little thing-a-magig in the air.

To answer your question, Tate: Ava was actually supposed to be doing what her teacher was doing at that point...but Ava loves throwing the bean bag so much that sometimes she gets "stuck" on that for a while!
